Legislative Decree 50 of 2016, subsequent amendments, consolidated the central position in the public administration of the Single Head of the Procedure (RUP) who is now responsible for multidisciplinary functions. To support the figure of the RUP, the same Legislative Decree in article 31 provides that "the contracting authority, in order to improve the quality of the overall planning and planning, may, within its organizational autonomy and in compliance with limits set by current legislation, to establish a stable structure to support the RUPs, also reporting directly to the top of the public administration of reference.
